Columbia’s director of community development to retire July 7

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The director of the City of Columbia’s Community Development Department, Tim Teddy, will retire on July 7 after 20 years, according to a Tuesday press release from the city.

He joined the city as the planning and development director in June 2005 and became the community development director in October 2011, the release says. The release says he played a central role in shaping long-term planning efforts and has overseen the City’s planning, zoning, permitting, inspections and code enforcement functions

"Throughout his time with the City, Tim has played a vital role in guiding thoughtful growth and development in our community," City Manager De’Carlon Seewood said in the release. "His steady leadership and commitment to public service have helped shape a stronger, more resilient Columbia. On behalf of the City, we thank him for his many contributions and wish him all the best in his retirement."
